Moving towards virtuous perfumery
Making something beautiful is good. But doing something good is even better! At CARON, we are driven by the vision of generous luxury, which forgets neither planet nor people. From selecting ingredients for our fragrances all the way to decorating our shop windows, this ideal is our guiding light every step of the way.
It all starts with the ingredients
Our perfumer Jean JACQUES carefully selects the raw materials that go into his creations both a delight to the nose and in keeping with our convictions. Like Turkish rose, Indonesian patchouli, or Haitian vetiver, all of which are For Life-certified by our partner IFF/LMR. These essences are produced by fair, sustainable growing networks that preserve natural resources and tangibly improve living conditions for local populations.
Filling at the fountain
When we design a new fragrance, we prioritise the use of processes and materials with the smallest possible impact on the environment. Our commitment for a generous and responsible luxury had a step ahead. In 1982, we were the first fragrance House to give our customers the opportunity to fill their bottles at the source.
Our fragrance fountains, made of Daum or Baccarat crystal, made our shops an attractive destination and a precious emblem for our vision of Haute Parfumerie.
Eco-responsability
More than a simple intention, CARON’s commitment to responsibility is part of our DNA. This is why, at Maison CARON, we work towards a luxury that is resolutely committed to respecting the planet by carrying out several specific actions.
We are driven by the vision of a generous luxury that does not forget the planet or men. An ideal that guides our choices in terms of ingredients, supply chain and packaging.
Our partnership
Since 2005, Cœur de Forêt, works towards the preservation of forests in France, and internationally, by acting on the causes of deforestation and forest degradation. The association works to respond to the complex challenges related to deforestation by combining the consideration of environmental, social, and economic parameters. This holistic approach is based on a long-term vision in which the association works side by side with populations through local antennaes composed of employees and volunteers.
Since its creation, Cœur de Forêt has planted more than 3,2 million trees of 450 different species. It is more than 54 000 bénéficiaires that have been guided on different projects, and 33 new products developed (essential oils, honey, coffee…).
Nothing is lost – everything gets used!
This conviction gave us the idea for a totally unique activist approach for the window displays in our shops. We gave the job to the Wondervision collective of artists, who create enchanting, poetic décor from recycled materials. It was in our very own archives that they found objects to transform or re-purpose to give them a second life. What a lovely lesson in responsible beauty!
